Students’ Federation of India (SFI) activists protested against the way students writing National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) examinations were shamed like theives in the name of frisking. The protest was also aimed at the central government for preparnig a particularly tough question paper for Tamil Nadu students and burying their medical dreams.
In the name of rules and regulations, the CBSE committee discharging the NEET examinations carried out ghastly inspections. Female students were shamed by having to remove thier inner garments for the inspection. Women wearing jeans pants were morally abused by the inspectors. They were also made to remove their accessories before entering the examination hall. And shirts of male students were torn. Students felt shamed because there was no need for such an offensive inspection process.
There was more shock awaiting the students who went inside the examination hall following the disturbing frisking experience. Students who took the examinations, pointed out that the question paper was particularly tough for those who took it in Tamil.

During the protest, the police manhandled the protesting students.
Students who protested seated in front of the income tax office demanded that the NEET examination be repealed. They raised the concern that they were not able to perform well in the examination following the disturbing inspection process. They also demanded that action be taken against officials for putting students through mental stress in the name of inspection. The resignation of the officials and their apology was demanded by the protesting students.
The police arrested SFI Coimbatore district President Dinesh Kumar, district Secretary Prabhu and other activists of SFI for leading and participating in the protest.
